BAYLEY GARNHAM – PERSONAL TRAINER

“I have an opportunity to help change people’s lives for the better, and I won’t take that for granted.”

That’s the honest answer if you ask me why I’m so committed to this work. I know firsthand how much it matters to have someone beside you on your health journey – someone who cares about more than just your physical results, who you can trust with your wellbeing in and out of the gym, and who makes you feel like no question is off-limits.

That comes from my own story: as a teenager with Dyspraxia, a neurological learning disorder, I had a coach who was the first person to commit to teaching me how to look after my health – not just physically, but by building a real relationship built on trust and open communication. That experience shaped how I coach today.

Background

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Recreation, majoring in Sport and Exercise Science, and was a 2021/2022 Exercise New Zealand finalist, named ‘Up and Coming Personal Trainer’ in Auckland – recognition from top exercise professionals for my continuous learning and the results it delivers for clients.

As a Strength and Conditioning coach, I work with youth and senior NZ representative athletes across Swimming, Water polo, Sailing, Rugby, Para Triathlon, and professional dance. My background as an athlete comes from six years of training and competing in Olympic weightlifting at a national level, so I know what it takes to get the best results for your chosen sport. More recently, you’ll see me competing in Hyrox and sharing my hybrid training on Instagram.

As a Personal Trainer, I work with a wide range of clients – including young people from age eight with and without physical and neurological differences (Autism, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy, visual impairment), injury rehab clients (knee and hip replacements), and older clients, the eldest being 89. I also work with anyone simply looking to get stronger, build healthier habits, and feel more confident in the gym.

Living with Dyspraxia myself drives my passion for neurological and physical awareness. I’ve partnered with SPELD New Zealand and the Dyspraxia Support Group of New Zealand on webinars for families nationwide, and continue supporting families one-on-one.

I want you to understand why your training works – not just follow a plan – so you leave with the education and confidence to apply it to your own goals. Whatever your reason for coming to the gym, I’m ready to support you and help you get the most out of each workout!
